Behind the Scenes at Intrinsic’s 2024 Annual Retreat

At Intrinsic, we know that success is built on relationships—not only with our clients but also with each other. That’s why we gather each year to celebrate our wins and how far we’ve come. This year’s annual Intrinsic offsite brought our whole crew—colleagues, board members, leaders, and interns—to the beautiful mountains of Denver, Colorado. For three days, we connected, celebrated our progress, and grew stronger as a team.

Celebrating Our Journey

We kicked off our retreat by reflecting on the year’s achievements. It was inspiring to see how far Intrinsic has come, thanks to the contributions of our incredible team. We celebrated our strong partnerships with private equity firms and the outcomes we’ve achieved together with their portfolio companies and management teams. But more than that, we celebrated the hard work, innovative thinking, and collaborative spirit that each of our people brings to the table every day.

Envisioning Tomorrow

Building on our achievements, we set our sights on what’s next. We explored how we can continue to elevate our services and expand our impact in the market. Discussions of Intrinsic’s strategic vision sparked enthusiasm about our key priorities and growth areas. It was clear that each of us has a crucial role to play in bringing these plans to life, leveraging our unique skills and perspectives.

Honing Our Expertise

We’re always eager to learn and grow, which is why we dedicated time to both industry insights and our own experiences. Our panel discussion brought in some of our clients and other industry leaders, giving us a comprehensive look at the current PE landscape. Equally valuable was our deep dive into Intrinsic’s client success stories. We shared wins, dissected what worked well, and discussed areas for improvement. These sessions sparked fresh ideas, leaving us with new perspectives to refine our approach and continue delivering our best to every client.

Building Stronger Bonds

Another highlight of our time together was a powerful workshop on the Three Levels of Collaboration, led by external facilitator Michael Potts, which focused on building trust. We explored collaboration stages, from transactional interactions to win-win scenarios, with deep trust as our ultimate goal. Together, we defined what trust means to us and shared stories of the people we trust most. By stepping outside of our comfort zone and being vulnerable with one another, we gained insights into building deeper relationships with our clients and each other.

Embracing Fun and Connection

Our retreat wasn’t all business—we made sure to balance work with fun, because at Intrinsic, we truly enjoy spending time together. From rounds of golf to a rejuvenating yoga session and invigorating hike, there was something for everyone. Our evenings were just as lively, with celebratory toasts and some competitive bowling thrown in for good measure. These fun moments weren’t just about unwinding—they’re an essential part of what makes our team so strong.
